Dhaka Diocesan Youth Fellowship organized a seminar for SSC and HSC examinee on 16th June to 20th June 2014 at Retreat cum Conference Centre, Savar, Dhaka. 40 students from Haluaghat and Dhaka Deaneries participated the programme. Theme was, `Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.’ – Eph. 6:1. Most Rev. Paul S. Sarker spoke on the theme. He encouraged youth to obey their parents as the Bible says the same to us. He also mentioned that obeying our parents helps us to build our life. We all need to respect our parents though our parents may not be educated. After his speech he distributed crest to those who have received GPA 5 in board exams and gave a gift to them too.
`The role of youth in church’ on this issue, Rev. Shourabh Pholia, Mission Programme Secretary, COB presented a power point and explained it to the students effectively. He also challenged them to be a good leader in their respective churches. Dr. Tejas S. Das spoke on `Higher Education and Technical Education’ which might help the students to get a direction for their lives. Mr. Michael A. Roy, Facilitator, Anglican Alliance spoke on `How to build your life in present context’. Rev. Dr. Albert Walters presented a power point on `Global Warming and Awareness’. Rev. Hemen Halder and Rev. Mritunjoy Mondal also spoke on `Love and Marriage’ and `Impact of it.’
Rev. Jonarson Dio organized the seminar for the youths. He arranged an exposure for the youth to National Monument at Nabinagar, Savar.
A two-day long consultation of Church of Bangladesh took place from 31 May – 1 June, 2013 at Savar Conference Center of COB. The Theme of the consultation was “Education for enriching the life”, and Principal Rina Das, Martin Luther College, Dhaka spoke on the Theme. A total of 20 teachers from major schools of COB attended the consultation. Moderator of COB, Bishop Paul S Sarker and the Synod Education Coordinator Mrs. Janet Sarker were present the total period of the consultation.
