A Youth Fellowship Conference was held from 1 to 4 August, 2013 at St. Paul’s Church Thanarbaid of Haluaghat Deanery of Church of Bangladesh. A total of 60 participants from tribal Garo community of Haluaghat Deanery attended the conference. The main theme of the conference was “Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart” (2 Timothy 2:22). Revd John P Hira, Dean of Haluaghat Deanery spoke on the main theme. Besides, discussions took place on free alcoholic life and morality, Bible study & devotion, participation in the Church and future leadership, present situation of Garo Society and youth roles to them, climate Change & environment & social works. Philip Mondol, Secretary of Synod Youth Fellowship spoke on the mission, vision and goal of the church of Bangladesh for the youth society.
A two-day long consultation of Church of Bangladesh took place from 31 May – 1 June, 2013 at Savar Conference Center of COB. The Theme of the consultation was “Education for enriching the life”, and Principal Rina Das, Martin Luther College, Dhaka spoke on the Theme. A total of 20 teachers from major schools of COB attended the consultation. Moderator of COB, Bishop Paul S Sarker and the Synod Education Coordinator Mrs. Janet Sarker were present the total period of the consultation.
