On April 2, 2024, a fasting and meditation meeting was held at Emmanuel Church in Bollovepur Parish. Around 200 Christians participated in this spiritual gathering. The theme of the meditation was based on John 15:4-5:
‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.’
The keynote speaker was the Right Reverend Hemen Halder, the Honorable Bishop of Kushtia Diocese. In his message, he illustrated the believer’s connection to Jesus using the metaphor of the tree—its roots, branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits.
The event was attended by Mrs. Jessica Suparna Halder, Convener of the Diocesan Women’s Fellowship, the Dean of the Deanery, all parish priests and catechists, and a large number of Christian devotees from different parishes.
Additionally, fasting and meditation meetings were organized in various parishes of the Bollovepur Deanery, each with its own unique theme. During these gatherings, the Dean, the Women’s Fellowship Convener, and parish priests ministered the Scriptures. A significant number of women and men participated in each session.
