The country is getting plunged into one problem to another. We are indeed exhaust with continuous hortal (day long shutdown) that is jeopardizing our economy and general people’s livelihoods.
From April 17-18, 2013, a Partnership Retreat was held between COB and Compassion International-Bangladesh at RRF Training Centre, Jessore. The main theme of this Retreat was selected from Colossians 3: 23`whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for men.’
A post-Easter worship was held at Synod office for the central synod staff of Church of Bangladesh. The worship was administered by Moderator and Bishop of Dhaka Diocese, Rt Revd Paul S Sarker.
In his address he discussed the core essence of the resurrection through analyzing the events that took place after rising of Jesus from death.
This year, 2013, Bishop Paul S Sarker observed the Easter with ethnic minority community. He administered the Holy Communion service of Easter and preached at St Thomas's Church, Idilpur in Haluaghat Deanery. In his sermon he highlighted the essence of resurrection which is the basis of our faith in Christianity.
A retreat organized by Synod Women's Fellowship on 15 March 2013 at Retreat & Conference Centre, Savar. The theme of retreat was "God, the Lord, is my strength;" Habakkuk 3; 19.

In the Bible all works, earthly or spiritual, have been given values. We through works convey our thanks and gratitude to God. Through works, we witness our beliefs. Through works, we try to achieve spirituality and expose our grit.
On 24 February, 2013 three persons were consecrated as Deacon. Rt Revd Paul S Sarker conducted the ceremony through a service on the premises of St Peter's Church in Kaligram. The persons ordained as deacons were, James Baroi, Cornelius Mondol and Adhir Gathia. Revd Shourabh Pholia delivered sermon in the service. He said we all are servants of God. God exists in His greatest creation of humankinds. The servant who does not serve the people he/she is not a servant of God. The servant who does not love the people he/she doesn't love God. For serving people, a good relationship with God is essential. We should not forget that we are servant of God over the whole span of life.
Like every year, this year as well throughout the lent period Revival Mass Gatherings of Christian Religion took place at different parishes. This year, out of six, it was arranged at five deaneries. For each revival mass gathering there was separate theme.
During 6 to 8 February 2013 CWM Executive meeting was held in Dhaka. On 8 February a reception was given by Church of Bangladesh to the committee members. After a special morning service at St Thomas' Cathedral the reception took place. The General Secretary of CWM Dr Collin Powel delivered sermon in the service.
