From 19 July to 22 July 2013 a competition on spiritual songs cum workshop was arranged at Savar Retreat and Conference center. A total of 60 competitors from 6 Deaneries attended the event. The inaugural session was chaired by Moderator Bishop Paul S Sarker of COB while chief and special guests were Mrs Rina Das, principal, Martin Luther College and well-known lyricist, Mr Riton Adhikary Rintu respectively. The guests and others emphasised the need of spiritual songs in people’s life and society, and appreciated for arranging such an event. The workshop was ended being chaired by Dr. Danish Dilip Datta, a prolific writer and columnist on contemporary social issues. The contestants were awarded with certificates and the whole event was concluded with a spectacular cultural programme.
Among others, Synod Secretary, Mr Joseph Sudhin Mondol; Synod Edication Coordinator Mrs. Janet Sarker; Synod Cultural Secretary, Mr. Francis Bala attend the event and discussed on the different perspectives of the occasion. Revd Hemen Halder, Dean of Dhaka Denary was the convenor of the committee for arranging the whole events.
