
On October 24, 2025, the Right. Revd. Samuel S Mankhin, Moderator of Church of Bangladesh unveiled the cover of the book of worship songs translated into Tripura and Chakma languages in a grand ceremony at Christ Church, Chittagong. From now on, the Tripura and Chakma people will worship according to the Church of Bangladesh tradition and praise the glory of the Lord in their own language, which is an epoch-making milestone. This milestone was written the funding of the ‘Council for World Mission’. Through the unveiling of the cover of the book of worship songs, the good news reached the hands of the devotees of Christ.
The Tripura and Chakma speaking Christian will worship and praise the Lord in their mother tongue, that there will be an abundance of worship music books in the places of worship, and that worship will be conducted in a proper manner according to the customs of Church of Bangladesh.
As part of this continued effort, a Translation Workshop was held on 15–16 September 2025 at the Khagrachari congregation, focusing on the translation of worship liturgy and Christian songs into the Chakma and Tripura languages.
Participants included Mr. Suvojit Mondal, Program Director of the Church of Bangladesh; Mr. David Anjan Hira, Publication and Kapot Editor; Rev. Ajay Richil, priest from Khagrachari; Rev. Ripon Roy, priest from Chattogram Christ Church; along with evangelists from Khagrachari and Bandarban, all of whom actively contributed.
The main goal of the workshop was to translate the worship liturgy and Christian songs of the Church of Bangladesh into the Chakma and Tripura languages, and to include some new songs as well. This would allow indigenous believers to better understand and internalize the deeper meaning of worship in their own languages.
A two-day long consultation of Church of Bangladesh took place from 31 May – 1 June, 2013 at Savar Conference Center of COB. The Theme of the consultation was “Education for enriching the life”, and Principal Rina Das, Martin Luther College, Dhaka spoke on the Theme. A total of 20 teachers from major schools of COB attended the consultation. Moderator of COB, Bishop Paul S Sarker and the Synod Education Coordinator Mrs. Janet Sarker were present the total period of the consultation.
