Rev. Hemen Halder was consecrated as the new Bishop of Kushtia Diocese

Rev. Hemen Halder was elected as the Bishop of Kustia Diocese on November 10, 2018 and after almost 3 months meditation and prayer was consecrated as the new Bishop of Kustia Diocese on January 27, 2019. The holy consecration ceremony took place at Bolonpur Girls High School, Rajshahi which was attended by around 2,000 congregations, priests, leaders & lay leaders, civil society members from different dioceses, deaneries and parishes. The occasion was blessed by the presence and laying hands on Rt. Rev. Hemen Halder by the Moderator, Deputy Moderator and sitting and retired Bishops of Church of Bangladesh, Bishop of Barrackpur Diocese, West Bengal, India and the Most Rev. Foley Beach of the North American Anglican Church.

Bishop Halder was born on March 9, 1973 in the village called Jhaubunia, Upazilla: Mongla, Dist:  Bagerhat, completed Bachelor of Divinity from Kolkata Bishop’s college in 1997. He was ordained as priests in 1999 and since then he served the church in various capacities and parishes faithfully. Bishop Halder is married to Jessica Suporna Halder and has three lovely children; Jenith Modhurima Halder will appear in the HSC examination in 2019, Jinia Modhumonjuri Halder studying in grade -6 and Joshua Jose Halder will enroll for schooling this year for the first time. We ask God’s blessing on Him as He takes up this important spiritual leadership role as the Shepherd of Kustia Diocese of Church of Bangladesh.
