
From June 24, 2025 — A day-long training workshop on “Education and Child Rights” was held at Giriful St. Joseph Church, Khagrachari, in the presence of the Honorable Moderator, Bishop Rt. Rev. Samuel S. Mankhin.
The program commenced with an opening prayer, a welcome speech, and a motivational address by the Honorable Moderator. The active participation of children added vibrancy to the event.
Speakers Dipika Rema and Sulekha Mrong from the Garo community of Madhupur shared insights on regional development and the role of education in uplifting indigenous communities.
Mrs. Hanna Usha Chambugong discussed the importance of education among indigenous populations, highlighting the Church of Bangladesh’s contributions through hostels, schools, and healthcare initiatives.
Mr. Suvojit Mondal elaborated on various child rights, including the right to life, identity, parental care, protection from trafficking, health, education, and recreation.
Educational scholarships were distributed to the participants during the event. The program was hosted by Rev. Ajoy Ritchil and Catechist Ratan Moni Chakma.
