The Barishal Diocese successfully hosted an Inter-denominational Spiritual Conference at the Oriental Institute, Barishal, from May 26 to 28. Centred around the theme “Identity and Authority in Christ,” the conference brought together participants from various church backgrounds for a time of spiritual enrichment and fellowship.
The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome address delivered by the Honourable Bishop Shourabh Pholia and Mr. Labio Bala. The main sessions were thoughtfully led by Pastor David Diamond and Pastor David Samuel, while Rev. Suchitra Behera skillfully facilitated the proceedings. Morning and evening devotional prayers were conducted by Pastor Tanmoy and his team, with enthusiastic participation from members representing different churches. The conference offered an inspiring platform for unity, reflection, and spiritual growth. June 8, 2025, was Pentecost—the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. On this day, the disciples received the Holy Spirit, overcame their fear, and boldly preached the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result of their preaching, three thousand people accepted Christ Jesus as their Savior in a single day. Since then, Pentecost has been celebrated as the birthday of the global Church.
