Last 18-19 September Synod office led a memorial service in remembrance of the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the synod office meeting cum prayer room with all the Synod, Shalom, and CMCY staff by the leading of the Moderator. All shared about the gorgeous life of the Queen. As the Church of Bangladesh, it is our honor that Her Majesty Queen was part of the Anglican Communion. It is said that Queen visited the St. Thomas Cathedral, Dhaka during her state visit to East Pakistan (present Bangladesh) in 1963. She also gave a photo of Her own portrait to the Cathedral. We still have that photo in the Synod Office. In deep condolence for Her Majesty’s death Synod office kept the national flag at half-mast. The Moderator also declared a day off on the day of the queen’s last funeral to show her deep respect.
