Khulna is one of the major cities of Bangladesh and is famous for its jute industries. The Khulna Deanery was inaugurated by the Moderator of the Church of Bangladesh Bishop Paul S. Sarker on 13 April 2012.
The Deanery covers three districts named Khulna, Bagerhat and Jessore and has nine churches comprising around 1000 members.
