The Church of Bangladesh Social Development Programme (CBSDP) is the development wing of the Church of Bangladesh. CBSDP works primarily with local community, groups and church congregations to promote holistic development for the poorest of the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable people irrespective of religion, gender and age in Bangladesh. Women, children, ecological, environmental development and food security are the top priority areas of CBSDP. CBSDP also runs Pre-primary and Primary schools and health centres in the catchment’s areas. CBSDP is a community focused organization; relying on the strong support and pro-active participation of the rural communities.

Jesus Christ said “I have come that they might have life and have it to the full” – (John 10:10)

In the light of Christ’s teachings, CBSDP desires and seeks fulfilled communities, living in justice and peace with all of God’s creation.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed and announce that the time has come when the Lord will save his people.” (Luke 4: 18-19)

CBSDP advocates for and works alongside people affected by poverty and injustice, striving for their liberation, building sustainable local capacity and empowering communities to work together to claim their rights.
