Dhaka Deanery

Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. After the liberation war young people started to come to Dhaka for better education and livelihoods. As a result, the congregation of St. Thomas’ Cathedral increased  and that led to the establishment of a new center in Mogh Bazar, Dhaka. The Dhaka Deanery was inaugurated by the Moderator of the Church of Bangladesh Bishop Paul S. Sarker on 22 July 2011.

Rev. Samuel S. Mankhin worked hard along with some church elders to establish a new deanery in Dhaka when he was the Priest in-charge of St. Thomas’ Church, New Centre, Mogbazar.

The deanery has presently eight churches with a total of 3000 members.
